Dubrovnik, Croatia

Ever visited a 14th century pharmacy? Things have changed a little since then, but it’s well worth a look during your visit to a Franciscan monastery. Don’t froget to stroll along the promenade and medieval city walls.

Zadar

Zadar is a historic place, with Roman ruins and medieval churches to explore. Meanwhile, the cosmopolitan cafés and restaurants are great places to relax and enjoy the town’s distinct ambience.

Trieste, Italy

A little slice of eternal Italy that sits between Slovenia and the Adriatic Coast. Trieste is a charming destination which has been furnished decorously by grandeur and royalty through the centuries.
The heart of the medieval old city and its neo-classical Austrian quarter offer great expressions of this seaport’s colourful past. The food is divine, the culture vibrant, and ambience quite unique.

Sibenik

Sibenik is a historic city on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, and sits at the mouth of the River Krka. It is part of an Adriatic archipelago of 242 islands, islets and reefs lapped by crystal clear waters.
Though lesser-known than some of the other cities along Croatia’s coast, Sibenik possesses much picturesque charm. Jutting into the deep natural harbour, it is a pleasing jumble of terracotta rooftops guarded by four imposing fortresses and mighty walls. Within these walls you will find lanes and passages winding up the hill and around the mediaeval centre.

Lisbon, Portugal

Portugal’s capital spreads its ancient sites on seven hills overlooking the Tagus River. Atop the highest hill, St. George’s Castle overlooks the city. Balconies ablaze with geraniums and wrought iron lamps light up the medieval Alfama quarter. Sorrowful fados ring out from cafés in the Alto. Shoppers browse in the affluent Chiado district. A short drive away, deposed royalty once lived out their days in the opulent palaces of Estoril and Sintra.
